Deep Learning in R: Leveraging R to create a CNN for image categorization
Leveraging the cifar10 dataset we build a CNN to categorize images. Although rudimentary, the principles leveraged here can be scaled to work on any image dataset.
I'm a Morgantown based Global Security Manager & Data Scientist with a background in Intelligence and Analytics. My current research focus is on the use of efficient algorithms to improve threat detection and optimize security resources.
I'm also interested in the use of Artifical Intelligence using NLP and Computer Vision to improve the efficiency of security operations.

Using R, we explore the idea of genertive art without training the algorithm on previous work.
Using Python we leveraged the GPT-2 algorithm to build and train a 124M parameter model on scraped news stories from Techcrunch.
I was born and raised in West Virginia where I developed a love for the outdoors and learning new things. I've worked in the healthcare industry for over 10 years and have a passion for data science, intelligence analysis and solving new challenges. In my spare time, working on obtaining a pilot's license.
